The Nothing Post

This is just to inform you that there will be no shopping horror stories this week because I went grocery shopping without the kids last night.  One had the possibility of a tummy bug and so I went childless.  It was sort of pleasant.  Who knew?  So I may take this up as a regular habit.

I'm so sad for all of you who enjoy my travails at the grocery store to bring a little laughter into your own lives.  NOT.  But you know who you are.

I'm just glad you wrote. Whether you feature "bad men" or an uneventful time of shopping, it's always a delight to read.

Well, I for one, miss the weekly grocery store blog post.  Though I do know that bliss of shopping alone.  So I suppose I should not begrudge you one solo trip.

That's very sweet TP.  Mem, ummm, don't know how to tell you this but it's probably going to be a weekly event -- the me shopping alone thing.  My Beloved was so shocked I got back home so quickly.  And now that I'm playing the grocery game and go to the nicer grocery store in the nicer neighborhood where I'm not afraid to go by myself at night . . .

I love going to the grocery store alone. I spend less money, finish sooner...and have a more peaceful time. LOL

Did you find yourself talking to yourself? That is what I do when I grocery shop alone. I never realized how much until another shopper answered my question on which item was a better buy. I actually looked at them with a shocked expression as if they had read my mind. Then I realized I had been conversing with myself out load the same as I do when the children are with me! I think I take them with me too often! LOL!!

Oh, sad for us but happy for you!!  I went to the store on Friday with all the dc to "get a few things."  An hour and $232 later, we exited the store.  I was just really glad we were able to get in and out in an hour.  I think that's a record for me for "big" grocery shopping with all the dc along!   And the store even had a bench cart for us to use!  Oh, happiness.  So, do you find that you are saving quite a bit of money playing the grocery game?

I have probably cut back on our food costs by about 30% by playing the grocery game.  It is work, however, even with the guidance and you have to find the time to be diligent and cut things out and sort, etc.  But I'm very, very happy I'm doing it.
